Bassiste à la carrière exceptionnelle puisqu'il a joué entre autre avec
King Crimson , Peter Gabriel , Yes , Liquid Tension experiment ,
Pink Floyd , John Lennon , Joan Armatrading , Paul Simon ....
Tony Levin  fait preuve d'un grand esprit d'innovation en popularisant des instruments tels que le " Chapman Stick ", ou les Funk Fingers qu'il a créés.
Il fait également partie d'un groupe de jazz fusion, Bruford Levin Upper Extremities , aux côtés du batteur Bill Bruford ( Yes , King Crimson ),
du guitariste  David Torn  et du trompettiste  Chris Botti .
