U S A -  jazz-rock fusion progressif  -  ****

 


Voici l'un des premiers et plus influents groupe de jazz-rock fusion, groupe formé en 1971 par le pianiste  Joe Zawinul  et le saxophoniste Wayne Shorter . L'envol de Weather Report est principalement dû à l'arrivée d'un jeune bassiste très prometteur : Jaco Pastorius , génie et pionnier de la basse électrique, de nombreux autres musiciens ont participé au fil du temps au groupe  : Peter Erskine , Alex Acuña , Alphonso Johnson , Victor Bailey et même Carlos Santana .
Le groupe s'est toujours orienté vers une composition d'ensemble,
en créant des arrangements complexes, parfois difficiles à différencier
des parties improvisées. Chacun des musiciens étant virtuose sur son propre instrument, ils étaient capables aussi bien d'offrir des solos
inspirés qu'un gros travail d'accompagnement.
Un groupe majeur dans le style !!!
