Ethan Miller , chanteur / guitariste du groupe de rock néo psychédélique Comets on Fire , forme en 2006, Howlin Rain  avec  Ian Gradek ( basse )
et   John Moloney ( batterie ). Après un premier album éponyme en 2006,
" Magnificent Fiend " sort en 2008, avec une formation renforcée.
Une musique moderne aux influences 70's, qui mixe blues rock
( Humble Pie , Rory Gallagher , Grand Funk Railroad ) et rock sudiste
( Allman Brothers Band , Lynyrd Skynyrd ). Un vrai régal !
