Lynyrd Skynyrd  est l'un des fondateurs du rock sudiste, un style
de rock influencé par le country provenant du sud des États-Unis.
L’histoire du groupe commence à Jacksonville aux en 1964, il fut fondé
par Robert Burns , Allen Collins , Gary Rossington et Ronnie Van Zant .
Le tube "Sweet Home Alabama" restera comme leur marque de fabrique, autant qu'un signe de ralliement pour les Yankees du monde entier...
en particulier pour son côté polémique par rapport à deux chansons de
Neil Young : Southern Man (dans l'album After the Gold Rush)
et Alabama (dans l'album Harvest).
