Toto  est un groupe de rock américain formé dans les années 1970
en Californie par  Jeff Porcaro (batterie) et  David Paich (clavier),
auxquels se joignent  Steve Lukather (guitare), Steve Porcaro (claviers),
David Hungate (basse) et  Bobby Kimball (chant).
Au début des années 1980, le groupe atteint la consécration avec son
album " Toto IV ". La musique du groupe évolue du rock progressif
à la pop adulte, en passant par le jazz-rock et le rock californien.
Des album aux morceaux symphoniques  ( Kansas ), heavy, émotionnels,
ballades, par la suite  Toto  s'éloignera des sphères progressives pour
une musique plus commerciale.
