~ Mike & The Mechanics ~

Les membres de Genesis se sont tous lancés dans des carrières solo,
Mike Rutherford , lui, a sorti deux albums solo, "Smallcreep’s Day" (1980)
"Acting Very Strange" (1982). En 1985, il fonde Mike & The Mechanics
avec les chanteurs Paul Young (Sad Café) et Paul Carrack (Ace, Squeeze),
appuyés par Adrian Lee aux claviers (collaboration avec Cliff Richards) et
Peter Van Hook à la batterie (Van Morrison).
Mike & The Mechanics s'éloigne de Genesis et prend une orientation
plus pop rock, avec des titres courts et directs, dont les refrains sont
rapidement assimilables. Une pop rock de qualité, aux ambiances travaillées,
avec de beaux arrangements claviers, une rythmique dynamique, et des
chanteurs au top de leur art. On prend un réel plaisir à l'écoute de cette
musique, " simple " et efficace !!!
