Peter Hammill est incontestablement l'un des "artistes-culte" du monde
du rock, que des musiciens aussi divers que David Bowie , Peter Gabriel
ou Fish citent comme influence ou objet d'admiration.
Il nous offre des albums ou le dépouillement met en valeur la voix de
l'ancien chanteur du groupe Van Der Graaf Generator dans des ambiances
très intimistes, avec une extrême cohérence dans la musique comme dans
les textes, des mélodies fortes, des textes très sombres, des albums riches et
intenses, souvent joués à la guitare acoustique avec l'unique apport de
violon, saxos et flûtes,... Ce poète-musicien aussi éclectique qu'intègre et
prolifique a visité, souvent avant leur heure, les divers courants du rock
de ces trente dernières années.

Enregistrements live entre 1999 et 2004,
avec le violon de Stuart Gordon et la voix du Maître
s'accompagnant au piano ou à la guitare.
~ 2009 ~
" Thin Air " est déjà son trente-et-unième album. Seul avec sa voix et sa panoplie d'instruments, il nous délivre neuf compositions fortes et originales.
