God is an Astronaut est un groupe instrumental post-rock formé par trois musiciens Irlandais. L eurs clips " The End of the Beginning " et
" From Dust to the Beyond ", ont reçu des récompenses aux MTV.
Leur musique représente leur capacité de passer d'une ambiance sereine
à une intensité brûlante, qui est assez proche de leur son en concert.
L’orchestration est relativement classique s’agissant de rock instrumental
en état d’apesanteur, ambiant, électronique et rock, basé sur des guitares
tantôt cristallines tantôt saturées en fond, aux mélodies simples auxquelles
sont adjointes des boucles de synthés. Du post-rock à la teinte new wave
en quelque sorte : une musique qui fait penser pêle-mêle à The Cure ,
New Order , mais également Explosion In The Sky , M 83 .
Une musique qui détend en plus d’être agréable à écouter, aux mélodies imparables aux envolées lyriques, qui s’apprécie également en vidéos
que vous pouvez retrouver sur You Tube.
Un groupe inclassable à découvrir absolument.
