Formé à Austin, au Texas, en 1999, Explosions in the Sky  est devenu
l'un des groupes les plus reconnus dans le mouvement post-rock,
souvent comparé à  Mogwai  ou  Godspeed You! Black Emperor .
Une musique exclusivement instrumentale, avec une alternance de
grande douceur mélancolique et d'énergie rock, elle se veut épurée, mélodique,
déprimée, dynamique, lente et épique, presque post-apocalyptique,
faite de passages aériens, de montées puissantes
de guitares déchirantes qui tissent des arpèges raffinés, la section
rythmique en impose, toujours emmenée par une batterie puissante.
A découvrir et surtout à ne pas manquer pour les amateurs de
Sigúr Ros , Mogwai , Godspeed You! Black Emperor .
