En 1970,
Egg  sort son premier album basé essentiellement sur les claviers.
Les musiciens expérimentaient alors un mélange de rock progressif primaire,
o
scillant entre  ELP et le Canterbury, on y retrouve également des influences
de musique classique  
J.S. Bach et  E. Grieg  et de jazz débridé. Dominée par l'orgue Hammond et le piano de Dave Stewart , la musique de Egg  fait inévitablement penser à celle du premier groupe de  Keith Emerson ( The Nice ) claviériste virtuose, toutefois, l'approche avant-gardiste de Egg est plus
affirmée et la basse de  
Mont Campbell  beaucoup plus agile.
Une formation absolument incontournable !!!!
