Le groupe a été formé en 1966 à San Antonio, au Texas,
par  Rod Prince  et  Roy Cox . Un grand groupe en terme de
performance dans les hit-parades, un succès commercial avec leur
look et leur son hippie-rock-pop dynamique distinctif.
Leur single hit " Hot Smoke & Sassafras " est une tranche de psych rock superbe qui a même été reprise par des artistes anglais de l’époque.
