Asia  groupe fondé en 1981, a immédiatement fait parler de lui puisque
le quatuor originel rassemblait trois crèmes de la musique progressive :
 John Wetton ( King Crimson ) au chant et à la basse,
Steve Howe ( Yes ) à la guitare et
Carl Palmer ( Emerson, Lake & Palmer ) à la batterie.
Leur premier album éponyme sorti en 1982 a un succès inespéré.
Il se vend à plus de 9 millions d'exemplaires.
Le rock d' Asia navigue entre musique progressive et pop rock FM,
aux mélodies directes, efficaces, soignées et bien chantées.
