Groupe italien de progressif métal gothique, une musique à la fois symphonique
et hard, avec de nombreux changements dynamiques, tout en restant dans un conteste assez noir, le style rappelle  Aragon , voire  Genesis ,  Marillion ,
avec une touche plus gothique, du progressif énergique très bien chanté à la
fois puissant et délicat, aux thèmes à l'écriture musicale de facture assez simple,
générant des climats en osmose avec des textes à l'épique inspiration médiévale.
Le fantastique chanteur  Francesco Grosso , à la voix proche de celle d'un
 Peter Gabriel  et à l'étonnant travail sur les harmonies vocales, magnifie les compositions du groupe. Après l'arrivée d'un nouveau vocaliste, en la
personne de  Ivo  Gallo , chanteur à la hauteur de son prédécesseur,
Asgard  nous propose en 2000 " Drachenblut " un excellent nouvel album !
